Angela Rouson picks up candidate information

ST. PETESBURG--Angela Rouson, chair of the Pinellas County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, is considering a City Council bid.
Rouson picked up a candidate packet at City Hall today. Rouson, the wife of State Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg, could not immediately be reached for comment.
Her husband initially said she wasn't running for office and that he had no idea she had stopped by City Hall. He then called back and confirmed that she is seriously considering running for the District 5 seat, which is up for grabs because council member Jamie Bennett is running for mayor.
"My wife has been looking for greater civic challenges," he said. "She believes she has served with credibility and integrity on the housing authority... and, frankly, while we have discussed options for her, including the private sector, now that our three-year-old is in school running for council presents a great opportunity."
He added, "She knows the district and I think she would make a great city council woman."
