Bill Foster picks up endorsement from Pinellas Realtor Organization

Here is the press release:

Clearwater, FL (September 28, 2009)

– The Board of Directors of the Pinellas Realtor® Organization (PRO) today announced its recommendation of Bill Foster for mayor of St. Petersburg.

PRO’s seven-member candidate screening committee interviewed both candidates in person and reviewed questionnaires with in-depth questions aimed to assess their views on current issues facing the City of St. Petersburg, as well as the their plans for the future of the area.

The committee was impressed by both candidates’ long history of civil service as well as their dedication to improving the city. Between the two candidates, though, Foster stood apart from his opponent because of his commitment to lowering taxes, private property rights, and his ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders through out the area. "The plan that Bill has developed for the city through his 'Foster Formula' should help increase government efficiency, reduce crime and stimulate the local economy," said Victor Adamo, Chairman of the Board for the Pinellas Realtor® Organization.

The City of St. Petersburg is at a crossroads such as bringing light rail to the city, continued issues with homelessness, and with an increase in foreclosures, St. Petersburg needs a leader who understands the dynamics of real estate and government. Foster has a long history as a St. Petersburg resident and he has the ability and desire to work closely with the City of St. Petersburg City Council as well as with peers across the region. It is for these reasons the Pinellas Realtor® Organization is recommending Bill Foster for the next mayor of St. Petersburg.
