TAMPA — Former Tampa City Council member and candidate for mayor Bob Buckhorn will hold a live video "town hall" discussion at 8 p.m. Wednesday on Facebook.

In announcing the chat, Buckhorn said it would give Tampa residents a chance to talk with him directly about his plans to foster the growth of well-paying, high-tech jobs by attracting companies in fields such as financial services, biotechnology, cybersecurity and defense. He also will discuss his support for a ban on panhandling. Using Facebook, something people already know and use, is the kind of tool his mayoral administration would use to save money, encourage accountability and streamline city services, he said.
