Bob Hackworth on WMNF

Dunedin Mayor and Democratic Congressional candidate Bob Hackworth was on WMNF's evening news this week. In case you missed it, you can listen to the segment here.

Hackworth is challenging 38-year incumbent C.W. Bill Young, R-Indian Shores, for his seat in District 10, which includes most of Pinellas County. A WMNF reporter accompanied Hackworth, a former professional bicycle racer, on his rides around precincts to talk to independent voters.

Hackworth says Democrats and Republicans deserve equal blame for the economic crisis. "Those who were there failed us. Bush, all of Congress, they just failed us," Hackworth says, adding that the job of government is to foresee problems and work to prevent them. "Don't just bump from crisis to crisis and react. Anticipate. Do things that avoid the next crisis."
