Business owner joins St. Petersburg District 6 race
ST. PETERSBURG-- Businessman Phillip A. Garrett, 56, has joined the race for the District 6 City Council seat.
Garrett could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.
Public records show he is the president of Atlantic Route, a St. Petersburg company that manufactures jigsaw puzzles.
He faces incumbent Karl Nurse, former city employee Vel Thompson and Derrick Frohne, a St. Petersburg College student.
