Calvo qualifies by petition in House race
Fabian Calvo, a Republican running to replace term-limited state Rep. Tom Anderson, has qualified by petition for the District 45 race against Republicans Richard Corcoran and Kathryn Starkey. He needed 1,025.
While they remain better funded and more well known among party regulars, Calvo's new Web video casts himself as the better qualified candidate in the Pasco and Pinellas district.
"I'm the only candidate in this race that has run a small business, that's created job and that's balanced some budgets," Calvo says in the video, calling for "less career politicians."
