Civil rights activist endorses St. Petersburg candidates

ST. PETERSBURG-- The Rev. Charles McKenzie has endorsed Scott Wagman for mayor.

McKenzie, the state coordinator for the Rainbow-PUSH Coalition and a local NAACP vice president, said he was impressed by Wagman's intelligence and vision.

McKenzie said he is also supporting council member Karl Nurse and council candidate Steve Kornell.

Kornell is running for District 5 against Angela Rouson. She is the wife of State Rep. Darryl Rouson, who trumped McKenzie twice in the District 55 races last year.
