Dana Young disputes Stacy Frank's charges on eduation funding
Dana Young, the Republican candidate for the District 57 state House seat, says her Democratic opponent Stacy Frank got it wrong last night when she said at a candidate forum that Young supports raising tuition at Florida's public universities to off-set state funding for them. "That's not right," Young said. "I have never said that." Young said she does support more private endowments for public universities. Here's what it says on her website: "We need to begin to lift the reliance of state colleges and universities from government resources and ensure that the tuition they charge, along with increased private endowment programs, creates a financially sound system to protect all higher education stakeholders."
Frank made the comments at an event that focused on issues affecting the Hispanic community Wednesday night. Young wasn't there. She was at candidate event hosted by the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce.
