Don't plan to do business with Hillsborough County on these days
TAMPA -- Hillsborough County Administrator Pat Bean has announced the dates for the five furlough days county employees must take this fiscal year, the first coming up this month, Oct. 30th.
Bean made furloughs part of her budget-cutting recommendation this year, along with trimming county contributions to employees' deferred compensation plans. And rather than leaving some offices short-staffed, she opted to make all employees take the same unpaid days, shutting down county government on those days. Employees on alternative schedules, such as four-day weeks, will get different days off if their scheduled off days overlap with furlough days.
Each furlough day is a Friday, except the last, which is Thursday, Sept. 8, 2010. The other days are Jan. 15, April 2 and June 18 of next year.
