Ethics complaints filed against White, Bean and Lee
A neighborhood activist has filed complaints with the Florida Ethics Commission against Hillsborough County Administrator Pat Bean, County Attorney Renee Lee and County Commissioner Kevin White.
George Niemann says that Bean and Lee abused their power by accepting 1 percent raises in 2007 without telling Hillsborough County commissioners. Bean and Lee say they got the increases as part of a long-standing program that rewards employees for finding ways to save the county money.
And Niemann said White violated state statutes by using the power of his elected office to try to get sexual favors out of his former legislative aide. Niemann said that even though White continues to deny he ever put the moves on his aide, White did admit that he tried to get her to hook up with a friend of his. As far as Niemann is concerned, that's still asking for a sexual favor. Read about it here.
