Final two weeks of Tampa mayor's race fundraising: $198,000 for Ferlita; $335,000 for Buckhorn
TAMPA — Rose Ferlita’s campaign for mayor raised nearly $198,000 from 729 contributors after the March 1 primary, according to a campaign finance report released Monday.
That total brought Ferlita’s overall fundraising during the campaign to nearly $497,000, and the finance report shows she has spent virtually all of it in her quest to win the mayor’s office in Tuesday’s runoff with Bob Buckhorn.
By comparison, Buckhorn’s campaign reported Friday that it had raised $335,000 from 1,396 contributors after the March 1 primary. That brought his total fundraising for the campaign to almost $566,000.
Voters go to the polls in the runoff from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. As of early Monday, 18,460 voters had already voted by absentee ballot or during early voting, which ended Saturday. That’s more than voted by absentee and early voting in the March 1 primary, which had a 22 percent voter turnout.
