Gerdes gets Realtors' nod
Bit late on this news release Thursday, but St. Petersburg City Council candidate Charlie Gerdes announced he won the Pinellas Realtor's endorsement in his race. He faces former council member Bob Kersteen for the west St. Pete district.
From Gerdes' announcement:
Charlie Gerdes Garners Realtors’ Endorsement
St. Petersburg, FL (September 29)—Charlie Gerdes, candidate for St. Petersburg City Council District 1, has earned the Pinellas Realtor Organization (PRO) endorsement, the campaign announced Thursday.
The Pinellas Realtor Organization is one of Tampa Bay's largest professional trade associations, representing the interests of over 5,000 real estate professionals in Pinellas County.
Gerdes was honored to receive the endorsement: "I am honored to receive the endorsement of the professional realtors in Pinellas County who work tirelessly to maintain and enhance the value of our City and region by advocating for and pursuing high quality of life issues like effective mass transit, sustainable resources, and a dynamic economy. Our Pinellas Realtors truly understand that what is good for business and what is good for improving our quality of life are complimentary objectives that can be achieved with hard work and focused vision. I look forward to helping them achieve those worthy goals for all of us."
This endorsement comes just a week before mail-in ballots are sent to voters citywide. Gerdes faces off against his opponent in the November 8 general election. Gerdes defeated his opponent with 52% of the vote on August 30 in a three-way, district-only primary to earn a spot in the general election.
