A Green Party opponent for Schenck?
UPDATE: Roman officially qualified by paying the fee. It's now a three-party race in House District 44.
Today is qualifying day for state legislative races. And just before the deadline it appears a surprise challenger is expressing interest in the seat held by Rep. Rob Schenck, R-Spring Hill.
Sarah Roman, a 21-year-old from Port Richey, has filed initial paperwork to run as a Green Party candidate. She still needs to qualify, but hey, there's 25 minutes left.
We're not sure what to make of her potential candidacy. She lists no contact information and it appears she lives in a different house district. But if she makes the ballot, it certainly clouds the field that now includes at least two Democratic challengers.
