Democrat Bob Hackworth will have a campaign rally Thursday in Dunedin to marshal steam for the Nov. 2 election for County Commission in District 4, representing north Pinellas. The event will be at 6 p.m. at Bon Appetit, 150 Marina Plaze

Hackworth awaits the winner of the Beverley Billiris-Carl Folkman-Susan Latvala primary for Republicans on Aug. 24. Latvala is the 10-year incumbent.

Hackworth has raised nearly $33,000 and has about $25,000 on hand. But campaign reports show Hackworth -- who is campaigning on not taking more than $100 a person -- would have much less if wasn't for his own wallet.

He has written two $10,000 checks to help pay for the campaign, records show.
