Hackworth to limit donations to $100, hires Darden Rice
Democrat Bob Hackworth has promised to not take any contributions above $100 from individuals and ban corporate donations in his bid to unseat Republican Susan Latvala on the Pinellas County Commission.
His campaign "is about being a citizen legislator beholden to no one. That’s why I will limit contributions to my campaign to $100 and only from individuals – not developers, corporations or from those with business before the County Commission. I believe that type of influence goes to the heart of why our county government does not work better for its citizens," Hackworth said in a news release (Download Bob_Hackworth_PR_02252010).

Latvala has raised $62,700 already.
Hackworth, who hired former candidate and political activist Darden Rice as his campaign manager, is running against an incumbent with deep ties politically. Republicans Beverley Billiris, Carl Folkman and Ray Brooks also are running, raising about $30,000 combined.
