Hackworth says 'eight is enough' already
ST. PETERSBURG -- Former Dunedin Mayor Bob Hackworth pledged to only serve two terms if he replaces Republican Susan Latvala on the Pinellas County Commission.
Leading off the speakers at the county Democrats' Kennedy King Dinner, Hackworth digged at Latvala for serving more than eight years.
He also promised to put "public service" over politics, and push for social progress in short remarks. He also highlighted his announcement this week that he will take only contributions of $100 or less from individuals -- no companies, and no one with business with the commission.
Hackworth said donation information will be released in "real time."
