Hillsborough Democrats name Matthew Snyder executive director
TAMPA – The Hillsborough County Democratic Party has named Matthew Snyder its executive director, a staff position the party hasn't had for a long time but thinks it can use now.
"It's the first time that we've established an executive director in probably over two decades,” said Chris Mitchell, chairman of the county party. Stacy Frank will chair the party's finance committee.
Snyder, 29, is a 2007 graduate of Stetson University College of Law and has worked on several campaigns in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, as well as in his home state of New Jersey. Mitchell said he expects Snyder will play a crucial role in building the party locally. Snyder said that effort will focus on four things: building party infrastructure, raising money, crafting a message and recruiting viable candidates who will win. The year 2011, he said, “will be about party development.”
