James Grant files to run for District 47 House seat
James Grant, the son of former Florida Sen. John Grant, filed this week to run for the District 47 state House seat. So far, he's up against retired Verizon executive Irene Guy; former Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair; Richard Reidy, legislative aide to County Commissioner Ken Hagan; and businessman Tom Aderhold in the Republican primary in 2010. In a news release, Grant said: “I want to make sure that Florida is a state using taxpayer dollars as efficiently as possible, a state that provides solid educational options and the opportunity for all children to excel, and a state that encourages new business development while allowing current businesses to thrive.”
The release also touts his support for "Ducks Unlimited, a world leader in wetlands conservation" and his membership in the Coastal Conservation Association.
