Jim Norman leaves Salvation Army job

9

November

Incoming state Senator Jim Norman has retired from his job at the Salvation Army. Norman worked for the agency for more than 30 years. Questions about his employment there were raised during his Senate campaign. Norman's financial relationship with a prominent Hillsborough businessman is under investigation by the FBI, which has prompted some Salvation Army donors to say they may withhold support from the Army this year. "Due to Mr. Norman's recent election and the significant duties he will assume, The Salvation Army has decided to end the employment relationship with Mr. Norman," said a statement issued Tuesday by the charity. "His request to retire after 31 years has been accepted. We wish Mr. Norman well in his future endeavors." Read more about it here. And a hat tip to SaintPetersblog.com for first reporting this news.
