John Warren second wealthiest mayoral candidate
ST. PETERSBURG -- Restaurateur John Warren is the second wealthiest candidate for mayor, according to state records.
Warren, who listed his net worth at $3 million, trails behind real estate investor Scott Wagman, whose net worth is $4.7 million.
State officials could not locate Warren's financial disclosure forms this week. He faxed them a copy of the documents today.
The records show that most of Warren's assets are tied to his rental properties. He owns $4.3 million in real estate and $50,000 in cash.
Under liabilities, Warren listed $1.5 million in mortgages and $50,000 in taxes.
He earned $207,000 from his real estate and $20,000 in other income.
His household goods and personal effects are worth $35,000, he wrote.
Warren is one of four mayoral candidates who contended that they could not pay a roughly $1,600 state election fee.
He said state disclosure forms do not reflect his expenses and that the fee was an undue burden.
