Justice raises $34,200, falling more behind Young
Democrat Charlie Justice raised $34,200 in the second quarter of 2011, leaving him with just $38,400 on hand this month, according to federal campaign finance reports. He spent $56,000 on his campaign.
U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young, R-Indian Shores, has $630,000 after taking in $222,000 in donations during the same time. Here's how Justice, a state senator in St.Petersburg, spun it in a fund-raising appeal Thursday:
"As the 40-year incumbent continues to show why he is part of the Washington problem by once against bringing in thousands of dollars to his campaign coffers through his Washington insiders, our campaign continues it's grass-roots approach and seeing results from local donors and supporters who are ready for new leadership for our hometown," Justice said.
