Kathryn Starkey announces support of two Pasco commissioners
Two Pasco commissioners endorsed Kathryn Starkey in her bid for the House District 45 race.
Commissioners Pat Mulieri and Ann Hildebrand, both Republicans, announced their endorsement in a news release sent out today by Starkey's camp.
Neither comes as a surprise endorsement. Hildebrand had already publicly said she would support Starkey and had contributed to her campaign. Mulieri's husband contributed to Starkey this past quarter.
The House 45 seat covers parts of Pasco and Pinellas counties. Incumbent Tom Anderson of Dunedin must step down due to term limits.
Starkey, a Pasco School Board member, is battling fellow Republicans Richard Corcoran and Fabian Calvo in the primary.
In her statement, Starkey said she was honored by the support of Hildebrand and Mulieri. "I know that their support will make a difference as we continue our campaign. I’m looking forward to taking my innovative ideas and solutions to Tallahassee to work for the people in District 45," Starkey said in her statement.
“Kathryn is high energy with tested leadership abilities. She will put her district and constituents first,” Hildebrand said in the news release.
“I have known Kathryn Starkey for many years. She is diligent, innovative, and an ‘out of the box’ thinker. She has done an outstanding job as a member of the School Board of Pasco County and she will represent the citizens of District 45 very well,” said Mulieri.
