Ken Hagan seeks to make Merrill permanent Hillsborough County administrator
With the elections over, Hillsborough County Administrator Ken Hagan is seeking to restore a sense of stability at County Center.
Hagan will ask his fellow board members Wednesday to make Mike Merrill the permanent county administrator. Merrill was made acting administrator in March after commissioners suspended former administrator Pat Bean over allegations of mismanagement and self-dealing. He was made interim administrator for an indefinite period when commissioners voted to sack Bean in June when they failed to agreed to terms on a soft-landing.
The appointment would require support from at least five of seven commissioners.
