Larry Ahern receives multiple endorsements
SEMINOLE - Larry Ahern, the Republican candidate for State House District 51, has picked up endorsements from three groups.
The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, the Associated Builders and Contractors and the Independent Electrical Contractors have thrown their support to him.
Ahern, who is challenging Democratic incumbent Janet Long, said he was proud and honored by the endorsements.
With nearly 4-million members, the NRA says it is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with the goal of protecting the Second Amendment of the United States Billof Rights and promoting firearm ownership rights as well as marksmanship, firearm safety and the protection of hunting and self-defense in the U.S.
Associated Builders and Contractors says it is a national association with 79 chapters representing 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firmswith 2 million employees. Founded in 1969, ABC's Florida Gulf Coast Chapter represents the interests of 450 member companies from Gainesville down to Naples.
Claiming almost 3,700 member companies in more than 70 chapters throughout the country, the Independent Electrical Contractors association serves as the voice of the electrical and systems contracting industry on policies affecting its membership. The Florida West Coast Chapter serves 80 members and partners who employ 3,500 electrical workers in 10 counties.
Also in the race is tea party candidate Victoria Torres, an Orlando resident.
