ST. PETERSBURG -- All right, so we had to publish a slightly sanitized version of the City Council brawl video today because we are a family newspaper.

If you want to hear the curse words for yourself, check out this video posted by District 8 candidate Leonard Schmiege.

The man in the yellow is Frederick Dudley, older brother of council member Bill Dudley. The man in the red "Jeb Bush Sucks" shirt is Ronald Deaton.

Schmiege said he hopes the sidewalk vacation motivates residents to vote.

"We can't make this the first city without freedom of speech," he said. "The community needs to know if they believe in the constitution that their vote is critical."
