Mark Sharpe launches TV ad
Republican Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe has launched a television ad in his campaign for re-election to the District 7 commission seat. In the ad, Sharpe casts himself as a "fiscal conservative," making no mention of his support for a proposed 1 cent sales tax to help pay for roads improvements, expanded bus service and light rail. Sharpe is facing Josh Burgin in the August 24 primary. Burgin jumped into the race at the last minute, offering GOP voters an anti-rail tax alternative to Sharpe.
