Mayor Rick Baker endorses Angela Rouson in District 5 race

ST. PETERSBURG -- Mayor Rick Baker has endorsed District 5 candidate Angela Rouson.

She is the second council candidate to receive the mayor's seal of approval. City Council member Karl Nurse, who is running for the District 6 seat, received Baker's endorsements earlier this year.

Baker has yet to endorse in the mayoral race. He was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.

Here is a press release from the Rouson campaign:

Angela Rouson is proud to receive the support and endorsement of Florida’s best Mayor, Rick Baker. "I have always viewed Mayor Rick Baker as a visionary leader of our city. This is the most important endorsement or recommendation that a candidate can receive. I will strive to live up to the high standards he has set." Angela Rouson.
                                                                                Mayor Rick Baker said:
"As the residents of St. Petersburg make their decision as to who should represent them in city government, I believe it is important that we elect leaders capable of continuing the progress the city has made during the last decade, while implementing their own vision for a truly world-class city. Angela Rouson is that kind of leader. With her experience on the Pinellas Housing Authority, her volunteer commitments in our community, strong educational background, and her personal strength as a wife and mother of five, Angela Rouson presents the best choice for the voters." -- Mayor Rick Baker
