Mulhern says she'll seek re-election to City Council
She thought about running for mayor, county commission and state house. Now Tampa City Council member Mary Mulhern says she'll seek re-election to her citywide District 2 seat in March 2011. Unless, of course, she decides to run for mayor. "I'm waiting to see a good candidate get in there. Not only in there but even talked about. I'm probably running for re-election But I'm not ruling out the possibility of getting into the mayor's race later," she said.
So far, the mayor's race has four candidates: Council chairman Tom Scott, former police captain Marion Lewis, former City Council member Bob Buckhorn and Arthur Richardson. Rumored candidates include Jim Davis, Dick Greco, Rose Ferlita and Ed Turanchik. So far, only one person has filed to run against Mulhern. That's young Republican Scott Strepina.
