Nearly 8 percent of voters have already cast their ballots
ST. PETERSBURG -- More than 12,300 ballots have been returned in the Sept. 1 primary.
That equates to roughly 7.8 percent of the city's registered voters.
In the 2001 mayoral race, 26 percent of voters cast ballots overall.
Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark urged voters with questions to call her office before returning their mail ballots during Thursday's council meeting.
