For one Tampa City Council candidate, punctuality means a lot

Guido Maniscalco, who is running for the District 1 Tampa City Council seat, puts a great importance on being on time.

"I am a very punctual person," he said.

So it should come as no surprise that he collects watches.

Maniscalco reported $41,000 in vintage watches on his  financial disclosure form filed in January.

"It's my hobby," he said. "Each watch tells a story."

Maniscalco, who's family owns GMJ Gold, Watch, and Estate Buyers in Tampa, has about 35 different watches and most of them were made between 1941 and 1978, he said. Many of them were inherited from his grandfather.

Rick Barcena, who is the owner of Rigatoni Restaurant and is also running for the citywide District 1 seat, was the only other candidate in the race to list jewelry on his financial disclosure form. He listed $30,000 worth.
