SEMINOLE — A fundraising reception for Janet Long is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 17) at Grill 131, 13079 Park Blvd., Seminole. Long, 65, is running for the District 1 seat on the Pinellas County Commission currently held by Neil Brickfield. Long, a Democrat, is a former state representative and Seminole City Council member. Brickfield, 49, is a Republican who has served on the Safety Harbor City Commission. He is seeking his second term on the County Commission. Seat 1 is an at-large position elected countywide. County commissioners serve four-year terms and are paid $90,389 a year.
