New Pinellas County Commissioner Norm Roche's request for an aide will be debated where viewers can watch after all.

Roche wants to hire an executive assistant but the commission decided not to fill vacancies. Originally, Commission Chairwoman Karen Seel scheduled the discussion to go off-camera in a conference room, instead of taking place in the commission's Assembly Room, where discussions are broadcast live. She noted the sensitivity the discussions in a worksession.

But Seel changed course, delivering the message through her executive assistant:

Due to interest and others attending the “working lunch” on Tuesday, the meeting will be held in the assembly room.  And since they can’t eat in there Karen will try to find a time to eat.
