Pinellas DEC goes to bat for Norm Roche
From a Pinellas Democratic Party e-mail on qualifying sent today:
"Will you be one of two hundred people to give $20 to help a candidate meet this goal by Friday? If you can spare $20 please click here www.vote4norm.com".
The qualifying fee this election cycle is $5,456.04 and Roche, a Democrat who hopes to challenge County Commission District 5 Republican incumbent Karen Seel, says he's about a grand short. But fear not, Roche says, he'll loan the money to himself if the checks don't materialize.
"We’ve got to give the voters a choice and that is our goal," Roche said. "And they are going to have one."
