Pinellas Democrat Swope is fund-raising for sheriff too
With much of the focus on Pinellas County Republican sheriff candidates big contribution levels, Democrat Scott Swope's campaign wants people to know he is raising money too.
Swope will have a fund-raiser at Old Town Cafe in Palm Harbor at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Swope, who filed to run in September, had raised $6,390 though the end of that month. Longer running GOP frontrunners Everett Rice ($165,340 and Bob Gualtieri ($103,747) lead the field for 2012.
Swope, who has support from local party officials, faces gadfly and pro-marijuana legalization candidate Randy Heine in the Democratic field.
