Rubber meets road in state budget cuts
Gov. Charlie Crist may have high approval ratings (actually, they're outta sight for an elected executive in his second year in office, 61 percent) but will that change as local governments start dealing with the 2008-09 state budget he signed last week (and then promptly ordered agencies to spend even 4% less because of the continuing sour economy)?
Or will it be local politicians -- or state legislators who actually wrote the budget -- who take all the heat? Bay Buzz wants to know...
And if you need a refresher of how bad it is? Just this weekend's stories on school cuts: Here and here and here. Court back logs: Here.
