Saul-Sena campaign goes to the dogs
Linda Saul-Sena, Democratic candidate for the District 5 Hillsborough County Commission seat, made an appearance today at the ribbon-cutting a Channel District dog park with her poodle Zooe in tow. And Zooe was decked out in an orange campaign bandana that featured her owrner's name. Along the campaign trail, Saul-Sena has talked about her work developing community plans, including the Channel District, and her interest in fighting suburban sprawl by focusing on urban development. "There are 5,000 people who live in the Channel District and downtown that can use this," Saul-Sena said of the Channeldistrict Kennel Club. Doggie bandanas aren't the only unique promotional item in Saul-Sena's campaign arsenal. She's also handing out bike tags to tout her interest in making streets more friendly to bicyclists. Saul-Sena will face Republican incument Ken Hagan and Jim Hosler, who's running with no party affiliation, in November.
