Saul-Sena will challenge Hagan for county commission seat
After considering the possibility of running for mayor, long-time Tampa City Council member Linda Saul-Sena say instead she'll run for the Hillsborough County Commission seat now held by Jim Norman in 2010. Norman is term-limited out of the post, and is running for the Florida Senate. Current county commissioner Ken Hagan is also running for Norman's countywide seat. Hagan, whose term representing new Tampa in his current seat doesn't end until 2012, will have to resign to run. Read more about it here.
Saul-Sena's announcement poses an interesting thought for 2012: It's possible that Saul-Sena, current City Council member John Dingfelder and former council member Kevin White could all be in on the County Commission with Mayor Pam Iorio as County Mayor. Crazy.
