Scanners not working at two Pinellas polling places

Scanners were not working at two polling places in Pinellas County.

In Clearwater, voter Betty Mayeux said the scanners were not working at her polling place, at 2299 Drew St. She was told she could wait for the scanner to be fixed or she could leave the ballot to be scanned later. She left it.

"It made me a little nervous that we had to leave the ballot but you have to trust them,'' said Mayeux.

About 200 people were lined up at a polling place near Lake Magiorrie in St. Petersburg, only to be told the scanners were not working.

It took about 45 minutes to fix the scanner at the Lake Magiorrie polling place. The problem wasn't very complex: a paper jam.
