Sebesta endorses Latvala for state senate
Former Senator Jim Sebesta, the last Republican to represent District 16 in the Florida Senate, from 1998-2006, today endorsed Jack Latvala, for his old seat: “I have known Jack Latvala for 35 years. I served side-by-side with him in the Florida Senate for four years. I have seen firsthand his leadership in action getting things done. The State of Florida and Tampa Bay need Jack Latvala’s leadership again in Tallahassee.
“I, for one, want to see Jack Latvala put the same skills he used ending the water wars by creating Tampa Bay Water to work on issues like the future transportation needs of our region and our homeowners insurance crisis. I am pleased to be the first of many Tampa Bay leaders who will endorse Jack Latvala’s return to the Florida Senate.”
Latvala, who represented Pinellas and Pasco from 1994 to 2002, in District 16 would represent Pinellas and Hillsborough. If elected, he would make history, becoming first Floridian to return to the state Senate after retiring due to term limits.
