Shawn Harrison getting help in Tallahassee with state House run

Former Tampa City Council member Shawn Harrison, a Republican running for the District 60 state House seat, is getting ready for some post-Valentine's Day love from some members of the Florida legislature. Ed Homan, who currently holds the District 60 seat, and state Sen. Victor Crist, are co-hosts of a fundraiser for Harrison in Tallahassee on Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Florida Medical Association offices. Harrison has raised more than $100,000 for his campaign so far.

"I am honored that Representative Homan has joined in hosting this event for me. His service to the people of the 60th district will be missed. I’ll have some pretty big shoes to fill come November,” Harrison said in a news release.

Other state House members co-hosting the fundraiser: Bill Galvano, Ron Reagan, David Rivera, Chris Dorworth, Erik Fresen, Mike Horner, Esteban Bovo, Mike Weinstein and Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
