There will be a social gathering of some St. Petersburg City Council members and Pinellas County commissioners at council member Leslie Curran's Interior Motives gallery at 1110 Central Ave. on Monday night.

The meeting is supposed to be a casual way for members of both boards -- which haven't always been friendly -- to meet and socialize, an event agreed to by Commission Chair Karen Seel and Curran, the council chair. Not everybody's making it, though -- Commissioner Calvin Harris had other campaign plans, we're told.

Commissioner Ken Welch noted that county officials are free to discuss policy issues with council members.
