As expected, Pasco County School Board member Kathryn Starkey, a Republican, has confirmed her candidacy to replace Rep. Tom Anderson in the Pinellas-Pasco district. Anderson, R-Dunedin, can't run in 2010 because of term limits. Starkey filed with the state to run Tuesday, but sent out a campaign announcement (Download document.pdf ) late Friday.

Starkey's the first candidate in the race, although lawyer Richard Corcoran, a former top legislative aide, also is feeling out the race. More background here.
