State Fraternal Order of Police endorses Bob Buckhorn
TAMPA -- Mayoral candidate Bob Buckhorn picked up another endorsement from law enforcement Tuesday. The Tallahassee-based Florida State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, which says it represents more than 20,000 current and retired law enforcement officers, said it was throwing its support to Buckhorn. The FOP praised his preparation for the job and his support for law enforcement. Last week, Buckhorn picked up the support of the Tampa chapter of the Police Benevolent Association, the union representing city police officers. The PBA had endorsed Dick Greco in the primary and initially had not planned to endorse anyone in the runoff, but changed its plans at the request of officers. Buckhorn also has been endorsed by the union for Tampa's firefighters.
