Democrat Scott Swope, an attorney, will kick off his campaign for Pinellas County sheriff on Friday. The 7 p.m. event is hosted by K.C. Poulin, president of the Critical Intervention Services security firm.

The event is at The Public Safety Center, 13777 South Belcher Road. From the Swope campaign website:
