Tampa Bay may sweep pro tem Senate spots
The Buzz is the Tampa Bay lawmakers are set to get the ceremonial no. 2 spots in the Florida Senate in both parties. Buzz previously reported that Sen. Mike Fasano of New Port Richey was appointed pro tem for Senate Republicans. When Senate Democrats meet this afternoon to elect their officers, Sen. Charlie Justice of St. Petersburg is the front-runner for their pro tem spot.
In Florida politics, the pro tem job tends to be far more symbolic than powerful.
