Tampa city attorney leaving
TAMPA -- Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio is announcing this morning that City Attorney David Smith is leaving his job. She is naming Chip Fletcher as his replacement.
Smith took over the city attorney's job in 2004. Fletcher, an expert on environmental law, served briefly on the Tampa City Council filling a vacant post. He also worked with Democrat Christine Jennings in her challenge to the election results in the congressional election in Sarasota in 2006.
