Tampa council member Joseph Caetano's financial woes continue
An investment condo owned by Tampa City Council member Joseph Caetano will be sold at the courthouse later this month, finalizing foreclosure proceedings on the home. Caetano, who is running for re-election in March, also hasn't paid property taxes on his Tampa Palms home since 2007, with the past-due bill now totaling more than $22,000. And he still hasn't complied with an 18-month-old court order to pay more than $4,600 to a company that provided care to his ailing wife. Caetano said his financial difficulties have nothing to do with his ability to lead the city. So far two people -- Dean Hale and Charles Perkins -- have challenged Caetano for the District 7 seat.
