Teresa Zemaitis has a fan in high places
KENNETH CITY -- Elected officials at all levels are meeting to discuss the rapidly escalating annexation issue. Recently, state Rep. Janet Long, D-Seminole, met with Kenneth City Mayor Pro Tem Teresa Zemaitis, left, to discuss annexation issues between the town and the adjoining unincorporated Lealman area.
Long came away impressed with Zemaitis, who resoundingly defeated the old guard to take office.
"I find that Mayor Zemaitis is a very thoughtful, very deliberate, very bright young woman," Long said recently. "I'm excited to be working with her. ... She has a very collaborative style."
Long said Zemaitis is working hard to do what's best for Kenneth City.
"She's trying really hard to raise the bar in terms of how they operate," Long said. "It's a whole paradigm shift in terms of how people perceive (Kenneth City)."
