They could assume the Spratt mantle in Pinellas
Bay Buzz got its hands on the short list of contenders to succeed the ousted Steve Spratt as Pinellas county administrator.
Winnowed from a field of 53, they include Pamela Brangaccio, Broward County administrator; Peter Crichton, county manager out of Cumberland County, Maine; Eric Johnson, Hillsborough County's budget director; Robert LaSala, city manager for Lancaster, Calif.; Bruce Loucks, Charlotte County administrator; Darryl Martin, assistant county administrator in Clark County, Nevada; and Amy McEwan, assistant county administrator out of Lake County, Ill.
Two Pinellas assistant county administrators, James Dates and Mark Woodard, also made the cut. And there's a Wally Hill on the list, though neither today's list nor an earlier summary of all the candidates indicates whether that Wally Hill is the same was the one who's an assistant county administrator over in Hillsborough. Hill -- the one at the Hillsborough courthouse -- couldn't be reached for comment late Monday.
The County Commission will get the list tomorrow, take some time to look it over and then rank their top four, who will be brought in for interviews. Final selection is to happen Sept. 2.
