UPDATED: Young, Justice due at Tiger Bay Oct. 12 ..OR NOT
UPDATE: Young, R-Indian Shores, and spokesman Harry Glenn also said they have not promised to attend a Suncoast Tiger Bay Club debate with his election opponent, state Sen. Charlie Justice, D-St. Petersburg.
"I think we already have a schedule of therapy on the 12th. I have a very good meeting with Tiger Bay this year," Young said, referring to a January appearance before he announced he would run again.
The Suncoast Tiger Bay Club is planning an Oct. 12 meeting featuring U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young, R-Indian Shores, and his election opponent, state Sen. Charlie Justice, D-St. Petersburg.
Club official Chandra Tracy said Tiger Bay is preparing for the event, having been told Young will attend if his health allows. Young had back surgery at the end of July, and hasn't been seen much. Justice has criticized Young -- who doesn't engage opponents much anyway -- for skirting the race.
Young has bristled at Justice -- who trails Young massively in fund-raising-- trying to pillory him with criticism over earmarks.
